We buy the gear we review at retail. We do not accept payment for a favorable review, and manufacturers do not see a guide before it publishes.

Every product spends real time in the use it is built for: watches and rings are worn for weeks of workouts and sleep against reference hardware, smart home gear gets installed and lived with, and outdoor gear goes outside. We rank on accuracy, real-world battery life, comfort, and how little a product gets in your way.

We retest after major firmware and hardware updates and change our picks when the results change. If a link on this site earns us a commission, it never affects which products we recommend.
