The Lockly Vision Elite wants to replace three purchases with one: a smart lock, a video doorbell, and a security camera, all in a single unit on your door. It's an ambitious idea, and the hardware backs much of it up: a fast 3D fingerprint reader, a massive battery, and a peek-proof keypad. Whether it's for you comes down to how much you care about the doorbell half of the equation.
Does combining a lock and doorbell actually work?
Mechanically, yes, and it's tidy: one device, one install, one battery to charge instead of wiring a separate doorbell. You see who's at the door and unlock for them from the same app. The catch is that the doorbell is the weaker half. Video quality and notifications are fine, not great, and a dedicated Ring or Nest will beat it. If the doorbell is your priority, this is the wrong way to buy one.
What about the lock itself?
The lock is the strong half. The 3D fingerprint sensor reads in about a third of a second and learns your print over time. The scrambling keypad shuffles the numbers so anyone watching can't clock your code from your finger positions. It's a genuinely smart anti-shoulder-surfing touch. And the 10,000 mAh battery (with a spare in the box and a solar option) means charging is a rare event. It's a big, heavy slab, though, and it dominates the door.

Judge the doorbell against a real Ring or Nest and it comes up short, with a softer app and clunkier notifications. If video is your priority, this isn't the way to get it. Judge the Vision Elite as a lock that saves you a second device and a second hole in the door, and it's genuinely clever. The 3D fingerprint reader is fast, the battery is enormous, and the scrambling keypad foils anyone watching you type a code. It's bulky and pricey, and it tries to do three jobs at B-plus level rather than one at A. Buy it if you specifically want lock-plus-camera in one unit. Want the best of each? Get a plain deadbolt like the Schlage Encode Plus and a separate doorbell.

Want the best lock and the best doorbell? Buy them separately: a Schlage Encode Plus deadbolt plus a dedicated video doorbell will each outperform this all-in-one. Just want a great fingerprint lock without the camera? The Aqara U200 costs far less.
The verdict
The Lockly Vision Elite is a clever solution to a specific want: one device that locks the door and shows you who's on the other side of it. The lock, fingerprint reader, and battery are excellent; the doorbell is only okay, and it's bulky and pricey. Buy it if the all-in-one convenience is the goal. If you want the best of each job, don't combine them.
